Yenya Bet Migeb, a new Ethiopian restaurant, will hold its soft opening Saturday at 4 p.m. at 911 N. East St. in Frederick.
•
According to the restaurant’s website, Yenya Bet Migeb, or “የኛ ቤት ምግብ,” means “Meal from our humble home.” The restaurant describes its concept as “Tradition on a Plate,” with a focus on homemade Ethiopian cuisine, family recipes and live cooking meant to create a warm, authentic dining experience.
•
The space was formerly home to Jerk N Jive Caribbean Kitchen, which closed in 2024 after seven years in business, and later Mazako, an Afghan restaurant that opened in late 2025 but closed after only a few months.
•
Yenya Bet Migeb is expected to bring authentic Ethiopian cuisine to the East Street corridor.
