Baltimore’s Ekiben, is bringing its bold flavors to downtown Frederick—taking over the space formerly home to a barbershop at 500 N Market Street. Known for Taiwanese-style steamed buns, crispy Thai chicken, spicy tofu, and its popular tempura broccoli.
Founders Steve Chu and Ephrem Abebe first debuted Ekiben more than a decade ago at the Fells Point Farmers Market, opening their first brick-and-mortar in 2016. One of their most popular dishes? The Neighborhood Bird—a Taiwanese curry fried chicken thigh topped with spicy sambal mayo, pickles, and fresh herbs on a fluffy steamed bun.
More details to come as they become available.
