In November 2024, we shared that after nearly 50 years in business, La Paz Mexican Restaurant had announced its final day would be December 8. The restaurant’s owner, Graham Baker, had decided to sell the restaurant and its building. 

Thomas Zipelli, the new owner, plans to open an Italian-themed restaurant at this location on Carroll Creek. Zipelli is also the chef and owner of Salt & Vine Trattoria and Wine Bar in Olney, Maryland, as reported by the city of Frederick’s economic development department. He will renovate the space and transform it into a new culinary experience.

While the exact opening date for the new restaurant remains unknown, we will provide updates as soon as they become available.
