Since March 2022 we let you know that construction was underway for the Visitation Hotel Frederick on E 2nd St in Downtown Frederick, MD.

The project included renovating the historic former Visitation Academy (a Catholic all-girls school) into a boutique Marriott affiliated hotel, complete with a full-service spa and fitness center, an intimate performance venue, and a white-tablecloth restaurant with bar. The name of the restaurant & bar is Wye Oak Tavern, occupying the space that used to be the school’s chapel, with large stained-glass windows and statues of angels.

The new 65-room boutique hotel has announced a tentative opening date of December 12th. Additional details will be provided as they become available.
