The undefeated Linganore Lancers (13-0) are headed back to the 3A state championship game after a dominant 35-21 victory over Oakland Mills on Friday.
This marks the Lancers’ second consecutive appearance in the state final and their sixth in the past eight years. They will face off against Arundel (11-1) at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, MD on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Linganore is aiming to secure their seventh state championship, a feat that would further solidify their place in Frederick County football history. However, the Lancers have faced a series of setbacks in recent years, losing their last four state final appearances, including a heartbreaking loss against Oakdale (42-35) last year in the first ever State final between two Frederick County teams.
