The Frederick Board of Aldermen have given the green light to the Wormans Mill Court affordable housing project. The project, located near Md. 26 and U.S. 15, will include 315 multifamily units and 5,000 square feet of commercial space.
According to the minutes from the Mayor and Board of Aldermen Regular Public Meeting on 10/3, developer Standard Communities received approval to combine two adjacent parcels and rezone the entire site as 11.54 acres of Mixed Use floating zone. This zoning change allows the developer to proceed with the submitted master plan.
As part of the approval process, Standard Communities agreed to contribute $1,188,000 to the city’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP). This funding will help support the construction of a Rails with Trails bridge spanning Md. 26.

The Wormans Mill Court project is expected to bring much-needed affordable housing to the Frederick community. Additional details will be provided as they become available.
