Fall Fest at Rose Hill Manor Park:

Join the Frederick County Farm Museum for a fall festival including agricultural demonstrations, food, hay rides, crafts, and more! On Saturday the University of Maryland Extension Office of Frederick County will host the Agriculture Olympics so be sure to come compete in their agriculture themed challenges. On Sunday the Farm Museum will host the Kids’ Pedal Pull at 1PM.

FIRST SATURDAY October 5, 3PM-5PM FREE

Kids and adults are invited to drop-in and get creative together on art activities at family tables! Each session features a themed activity. From burglaries and brawls to bootlegging and bedaubing (vandalism), Frederick’s history is full of all things macabre. Join us as we dive into the sordid tales of our city’s past on this special tour just in time for spooky season!

Weekly Carillon Recitals in Baker Park

Weekly Carillon Recitals in Baker Park featuring City Carillonneur John Widmann playing the carillon of 49 bells from a mechanical keyboard with fists and feet. Bells range from 3,400 to 22 pounds of bronze and can be heard for blocks, but best in the park near the Gazebo. More info

Civil War Hospital Walking Tours:

Every Saturday and Sunday from April – September, walking tours of Frederick’s hospital sites will be available at 10:30 am on Saturdays and 2:00 pm on Sundays.

With accounts taken from the diaries and letters of the surgeons, soldiers, and civilians who were there, this guided walking tour will explore the locations of the city’s Civil War hospitals in churches, schools, and public buildings. This program is an excellent way to take in downtown Frederick as many of those same buildings still make up the historic district today.
