At The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night we gather as a community to celebrate, honor, and remember those touched by blood cancers. Friends, families, schools, corporate teams, and sponsors join together to bring light to the darkness of cancer. The funds raised by this community fund lifesaving research, advocacy and support for blood cancer patients and their families. Join us in the fight to cure cancer!

This year, instead of going our usual over-the-top for the Delaplaine’s annual gala, we’re going through the looking glass! Join us to celebrate another year of bringing the visual arts to the Frederick region and to raise funds to provide arts access and opportunities for all in the community. The Wonderland-themed gala features delicious cuisine, music and dancing, and more.
Frederick Festival of Flight:
The Frederick Municipal Airport is excited to host the second Frederick Festival of Flight on September 28, 2024! Entry to the event is FREE!
The Frederick Municipal Airport, and our airport users, invite the Frederick community out to the airport to experience the aircraft that fly here, the organizations that meet here, and the businesses that operate here.
Experience the Frederick Airport through aircraft on display and in flight, explore opportunities on how to get involved with aviation, and meet the people and businesses that are based at Frederick. We will also be hosting local food trucks and vendors during the event.

Weekly Carillon Recitals in Baker Park
Weekly Carillon Recitals in Baker Park featuring City Carillonneur John Widmann playing the carillon of 49 bells from a mechanical keyboard with fists and feet. Bells range from 3,400 to 22 pounds of bronze and can be heard for blocks, but best in the park near the Gazebo. More info
Civil War Hospital Walking Tours:
Every Saturday and Sunday from April – September, walking tours of Frederick’s hospital sites will be available at 10:30 am on Saturdays and 2:00 pm on Sundays.
With accounts taken from the diaries and letters of the surgeons, soldiers, and civilians who were there, this guided walking tour will explore the locations of the city’s Civil War hospitals in churches, schools, and public buildings. This program is an excellent way to take in downtown Frederick as many of those same buildings still make up the historic district today.

Summer Concert Series at Baker Park Bandshell:
Enjoy free, high-quality musical entertainment on Sunday nights in June, July, and August at the Baker Park Band Shell. 7PM-8:30PM (FREE EVENT)
From tribute artists and oldies to Afrofunk and bluegrass, Celebrate Frederick’s Summer Concert Series showcases professional musicians from a wide range of musical backgrounds. Previous artists have included jazz legend Charlie Byrd, Spyro Gyro’s Scott Ambush and Julio Fernandez, country chart-climber Cleve Francis, Bluegrass favorite Railroad Earth, L.A.-based Latin group Incendio, bluesman Tom Principato, and many more.
All concerts are free to the public. In lieu of admission, the Summer Concert Series Committee invites attendees to bring a canned food item to donate to the Frederick Food Bank. All donations can be brought to the Drees Homes Information Booth.
