The Frederick Keys are a member of the MLB Draft League. The MLB Draft League is a six-team baseball league featuring a split-season amateur-professional format. The first half of the MLB Draft League season features Draft-eligible players aiming to improve their stock ahead of the annual MLB Draft in July. The League switches to a professional format in the second half, with paid players comprising the six rosters.

Meet Our Friendly Barnyard Animals: Get up close and personal with our friendly barnyard animals, including goats, sheep, cow, alpacas, pigs, donkey, pony, bunnies, peacocks, turkeys, ducks and chickens. Kids (and adults!) love the opportunity to feed and interact with our goats, creating cherished memories and learning about farm life along the way.
5th Annual Flower Festival at Summers Farm:
Enjoy the beauty of our large flower field with thousands of sunflowers & zinnias in bloom! We planted over 35 different varieties and colors making every flower unique! Take Instaworthy photos as you walk through and pick your own from our stunning variety of flowers! Come visit, pick your perfect flowers, take epic pictures, sip a local drink in our spacious tent, enjoy live music, and relax at Summers Farm’s 5th Annual Flower Festival!

Blacksmith Demonstration at Catoctin Mountain Park:
Forge new memories at Catoctin Mountain Park!
Join our resident blacksmith in our New Deal Era blacksmith shop as he demonstrates the skills necessary for molding and repairing tools, hardware, and household items that were important to everyday life in Appalachia. Learn about the role of the “smithy” in the creation of Catoctin Mountain Park and of their influence on mountain communities.
This live demonstration will be held at the Round Meadow Blacksmith Shop from 11:00am to 2:00pm every last Saturday of the month from May to October.
Sugarloaf Mountain Polocrosse Club Tournament:
Sugarloaf Mt. Polocrosse Club (SMPC) invites you to join them for their annual Labor Day Weekend Polocrosse Tournament on Friday, August 30th through Sunday, September 1st, 2024.
The tournament will be held at the Urbana Fire Department carnival grounds. Polocrosse is a thrilling equestrian sport that combines the excitement of lacrosse and polo. Riders use netted rackets to carry and pass a ball down the field, scoring goals. SMPC has been a vibrant community since 2008, offering weekly practices, playdays, and clinics. Our club is dedicated to creating a welcoming and educational environment for all ages and levels of horseback riders.
Our annual tournament attracts competitors from across the United States, ranging from young riders to seasoned professionals. It’s a fantastic opportunity for the local community to witness the skill and excitement of this unique sport. Spectators are welcome to attend free of charge.

Sky Stage Concert Series
Enjoy a diverse lineup of live music under the stars at the open-air Sky Stage in historic downtown Frederick. Featuring original tunes from local and national artists, concerts take place on most Saturday evenings from May to October. All ages are welcome, and beer and wine are available for purchase with ID. Grab your tickets on Eventbrite or at the door (limited availability).

Weekly Carillon Recitals in Baker Park
Weekly Carillon Recitals in Baker Park featuring City Carillonneur John Widmann playing the carillon of 49 bells from a mechanical keyboard with fists and feet. Bells range from 3,400 to 22 pounds of bronze and can be heard for blocks, but best in the park near the Gazebo. More info
Civil War Hospital Walking Tours:
Every Saturday and Sunday from April – September, walking tours of Frederick’s hospital sites will be available at 10:30 am on Saturdays and 2:00 pm on Sundays.
With accounts taken from the diaries and letters of the surgeons, soldiers, and civilians who were there, this guided walking tour will explore the locations of the city’s Civil War hospitals in churches, schools, and public buildings. This program is an excellent way to take in downtown Frederick as many of those same buildings still make up the historic district today.

Summer Concert Series at Baker Park Bandshell:
Enjoy free, high-quality musical entertainment on Sunday nights in June, July, and August at the Baker Park Band Shell. 7PM-8:30PM (FREE EVENT)
From tribute artists and oldies to Afrofunk and bluegrass, Celebrate Frederick’s Summer Concert Series showcases professional musicians from a wide range of musical backgrounds. Previous artists have included jazz legend Charlie Byrd, Spyro Gyro’s Scott Ambush and Julio Fernandez, country chart-climber Cleve Francis, Bluegrass favorite Railroad Earth, L.A.-based Latin group Incendio, bluesman Tom Principato, and many more.
All concerts are free to the public. In lieu of admission, the Summer Concert Series Committee invites attendees to bring a canned food item to donate to the Frederick Food Bank. All donations can be brought to the Drees Homes Information Booth.
