A Frederick man is $100k richer after purchasing a winning scratch-off at the High’s convenience store located at 11780 Old National Pike in New Market, MD.
Here’s the full story via Maryland Lottery:

“Get a scratch-off, dad,” is what Charles Reed’s daughter said when they stopped at High’s #083 on Saturday. Charles, a pool technician, had just received a $10 tip. He listened to his daughter and purchased two $5 Ravens X5 instant tickets and now he’s $100,000 richer.
The Frederick resident later stopped at his friend’s establishment to play his two games. He scratched off the instant tickets while hoping for a win. The very last number on the scratch-off, a 33, matched one of the winning numbers and beneath the 33 was the $100,000 top prize.
“My daughter was asking, did I win, but I couldn’t speak,” said the lucky player. “I just picked her up and spun her around and around as she was saying, ‘We’re rich!’”
Shortly after realizing the win, Charles said his wife phoned to say her car had broken down and she was stranded on the highway. So, with his daughter in tow, the Frederick County man went to rescue his wife and share the good news.
“When he showed me the ticket, I just started screaming on the side of the highway,” said the winner’s wife, who accompanied him to Lottery headquarters to claim the prize. “It was a roller coaster of emotions.”
The father of three said that had his daughter not encouraged him to buy scratch-offs, he would not have purchased games at High’s that day. “She’s my good luck charm.”
Charles plans to get a new car with the windfall and pay down some debt with his prize.”
The High’s convenience store that sold the $100,000 top-prize winning scratch-off will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery.
