Work began 6 months ago on the South Street Centre Affordable Housing project that includes the renovation of four historic buildings and addition of three new buildings in Historic Downtown Frederick.
•
The Family Building will be a 4-story building with a lower level parking garage & 3 stories of housing above. Units for the Family Building will include 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom, and 3 bedroom floor plans. The adjacent building for seniors, will have ground floor parking with 3 stories of 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom units above.

The historic Moose Lodge building on the site was the first building under construction. When completed, it will be a mix of apartments, offices, and a community room. Currently, the units at the Moose Lodge have cabinetry and fixtures being installed, drywall hung and painted, and will soon be ready for the new residents.
•
In total this project will provide 152 units of Affordable Housing to both seniors and families.
