Shortly after 2:30pm on Sunday afternoon, authorities responded to Ulta Cosmetics on Guilford Drive and found several people at the store affected by a chemical irritant. It was later determined a strong-arm robbery had taken place. The suspect released a can of pepper spray and approximately 30 people were exposed, according to the Frederick Scanner.

Medics and hazmat units from the Frederick County Division of Fire and Rescue Services were also called to the scene. The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
